Andronikos was born on 25 MAR 1259 in Nicaea (now İznik, Bursa prov., Turkey) , the son of Michaél VIII Dukas Komnenos Palaiologos and Theodora Dukaina Batatzaina.
He died on 13 FEB 1332 in Monte Athos.
He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Ágnes Árpád, who he married on 8 NOV 1273. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Michaél IX Dukas Angelos Komnenos (1277-1320) and Konstantinos (?->1329).
His second partner is not knownThey were never married. Their two known children were Maria (?-?) and Eirene (?-?).
His third wife was Jolantha di Montferrato, who he married in 1284. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Simonida (c1293-<1336), Ioannes (1286-1307), Theodoros (1291-1338), Demetrios Angelodukas (?->1343), Bartholomaios (?-?), Isaakios (?-?) and Theodora (?-?).
